Demonstration and Disaster Relief Projects
An educational green building workshop, staged over 2 - 8 weeks.
This provides a basic education and understanding as to the principles and concepts of Earthship Biotecture.
What you get:
- In 2 weeks, the beginning of your
Earthship that you can easily finish. - In 8 weeks, a finished two bedroom
Global Model Earthship ready for you to move in.
To get started, look through the reports of recent projects, then contact us with the form at the bottom of this page.
The Earthship Biotecture Haiti Recovery ExpeditionThe objective of this first trip to Haiti will be to establish immediate shelter and independent utility systems for twelve people in two weeks. The methods used will be aimed at immediate shelter that can be evolved into permanent shelter as opposed to immediate shelter that is later replaced by permanent shelter. This enables our first efforts to be in the direction of the ultimate goal of permanent sustainable shelter for all Haitians rather than just emergency steps which may provide for an immediate need but that go nowhere in the over all long term scheme of a sustainable future for Haiti. |

The demonstration building is made of local, recycled materials. It will catch clean water, harvest its own power from the sun, contain and treat its own sewage and provide strong, quick shelter. This is not free, you must already have land, money, access to building materials and prepared to host a 12 person construction crew. We bring an army of interns as well, about 10 per week. Local electricians, plumbers, contractors and other tradespeople in local industry are always invited to participate and learn.

ObjectivesTo launch a demonstration project for a residence or commercial venture that will illustrate how the Earthship concept is executed and provide a transfer of knowledge for how to replicate it in any part of the world. To educate communities around the world as to the fact that fully sustainable buildings can be built and to demonstrate to local authorities that they can meet and exceed existing regulations. It has been our experience that this is the most effective method of bringing the Earthship concept to new areas. You may become involved by acting as the host for such a project or helping find an appropriate host. |
